Rogue Scroll: Swords Without Overplayer

Rogue Scroll is a little something I cooked up in my alchemical laboratory last week. A bare-bones version of Swords Without Master that fits on a single page. It’s got the rules for conjuring up some Rogues and running them through a bunch of Rogues’ Phases while collection Motifs. But there are no Morals, no Mysteries, no Perilous or Discovery Phases, and perhaps most importantly, no Overplayer.

It comes with two more pages of random inspiration to help fire up the imagination. The Scroll of Invocations is a page of miscellanies that answer the four questions that must be answered when you start a new phase plus a miscellany of thunders. The Scroll of Demands is a page of tables that piece together the sort of demands rogues can make of one another. The whole lot of it is only $1.49, an entire game with endless worlds of adventure for only 1% of the list price of the core rulebooks for the industry leader.

Because of this pricing scheme, I’m only selling it on Itch.io right now. If you’ve not been to Itch.io yet, you’ll want to spend some time there browsing all there is on offer there! It’s a marketplace for indie games, comics, etc., that cultivates innovative and experimental design and a community of support for the designers. You’ll find all of Worlds Without Master as well as my other games listed there.
